Modern pentathlon comprises five diverse sports: swimming, fencing, riding, running and shooting. Pentathlon GB is the governing body for the Olympic sport of modern pentathlon. It leads the progression of the sport through a participation growth programme, and an elite performance programme, which are funded by Sport England and UK Sport respectively. The governing body also oversees the growth in other forms of the sport, including specific events in the following formats; biathlon, triathlon and tetrathlon.
GB Pentathlon is currently looking to recruit a Non Executive Director from a commercial background. There are up to five Board meetings per annum, four of these are likely to be in London and one in Bath. It is anticipated that this NED position will Chair a commercial working group, which will meet before some of the Board meetings. This role will contribute towards the strategy and vision and will help to focus thought on potential commercial revenue streams.
Candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate effective commercial skills at a senior level within an organisation. Successful candidates do not need to have experience within the sport sector and applications from other sectors are encouraged.
