** SEARCH CONCLUDED ** INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
GB Boxing has achieved multi medal winning success at recent Olympics and world events. It is a major contributor to the success of UK Sport. Boxing is booming in Britain, with many well-known, world-class athletes, both male and female, successfully coming through the highly regarded GB Boxing World Class Performance Programme, based in Sheffield.
GB Boxing has the opportunity for two independent Non-Executive Directors to join the Board. One of the positions requires an Independent NED with finance expertise and accounting qualification, whilst the other role will ideally be an individual with experience in running major events, although commercial expertise would also be considered.
The Independent Directors will be part of a Board that consists of an Independent Chair, Independent Non-Executive Directors and elected Directors representing the home countries. The Board works with the CEO to determine and guide the vision and strategy for the organisation. The Board represents and champions boxing at the highest level in terms of advocacy with relevant politicians, civil servants, key partners in UK Sport and all aspects of the media.
The ideal candidates will possess a passion for sport, be able to demonstrate strong business/organisational acumen, show an understanding of good governance and will be able to demonstrate the ability to act collegiately and work with stakeholders in the best interests of the organisation. There are four Board meetings per year, which are normally in London. The role of the Independent Director is critical in developing strategy and supporting the work of GB Boxing and the World Class Performance Programme.
